Yale Keyfree for multipoint locks

The Yale Keyfree handles for UPVC doors

Yale’s Keyfree digital lock

The Yale Keyfree electronic handles for wood composite and UPVC door are obsolete now but there are still lots of them out there.

The big problem is that fitting them means drilling lots of holes in the door to run spindles, fixing points and cables through.  That is okay when the Keyfree is working okay, but when it stops working it’s a nightmare to replace!  The handles for everything else from that type of lock mechanism are smaller and the top holes always show.

We recently had a customer contact us who had had a Keyfree fail – the spindle had broken and, because it’s no longer available, Yale couldn’t supply a replacement. The customer called her insurers who sent out a handyman who just took the Keyfree handles off and fitted a pair of standard UPVC door handles.  The new handles  didn’t go anywhere near covering the exposed holes so the customer was left with a door you could see right through!

We were asked to do something about it so we designed the Yale Keyfree Repair Plates. We made the plate so that it complements the Yale UPVC adjustable fixing handles allowing it to be fitted to pretty much any multipoint lock mechanism without the need to drill any more holes in the door.  Because the plate extends vertically beyond the handle it hides all the exposed holes making for a really quick, easy and tidy installation.

The range of finishes, polished & satin stainless steel and electro plated brass also means that they match existing door furniture
